As many of you know, I am going to be teaching the children about poetry. They are going to make a Japanese scroll decorated with their own Haiku/poem and drawings.
The picture below was a collaborative effort between two children which I found in a book. One child wrote the Haiku while the other drew the picture.

We also will be reading Dr. Seuss since as my kids certainly know, I am a HUGE Dr. Seuss fan. We are taking the children a library of Dr. Seuss and Haiku books. We are also buying them books in Ghana which are on their "wish list" of children's literature from Ghana authors.
